CBD Superfood x Smiling Hara Vegan “Crab-less” Cakes with CBD Dill Dressing


As summer comes to a close, it’s a good time to make sure you’ve had your fill of summery classics.

Many summer meals contain meat and lots of dairy, but we try to enjoy them with a mostly plant-based @cbdsuperfoodtwist!

Crab cakes are one of the best parts of summer. Savory, soft in the middle, and surrounded with a good crunch, they’re perfectly satisfying on a hot day!

With some help from @hempeplantproteinwe’ve been enjoying this plant-based, crab-less version of crab cakes.

They’re delicious, and incredibly easy to make. And their rich flavor makes this recipe a crowd pleaser — our plate was empty almost minutes after we photographed it!

Hempeh Crab-less Cakes with CBD Dill Dressing Recipe

Crab-less Cakes Ingredients:

  • 8 oz package of @hempeplantprotein Chickpea Hempé
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • ½ cup shredded nori seaweed
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying

Crab-less Cakes Directions:

Break apart and crumble hempé in a bowl. Combine with nori, salt, pepper, and avocado. Form into small patties and roll in panko bread crumbs. Shallow-fry all patties in a hot skillet, one side at a time, until brown and crispy on both sides.

CBD Dill Dressing Ingredients:


Stir all ingredients in a bowl. Serve with the crab-less cakes and enjoy!
