Mantra Monday XXVI: Embrace the Bad

Author: Joe Lizz Embrace the bad so you can grow, and so that you can appreciate the good when it comes. Last week, I was talking to a friend of mine about how I wasn’t having a good week and it seemed like far more bad was happening than good. Later that day he shared on Facebook a video where a man shared stories from other people’s really bad days (like falling into crocodile infested waters and having to swim to shore) and how when they were asked about the experiences they responded with things like: it could have been worse, it build character, I learned so much. The obvious lesson to take away from the video was of course: my...

Mantra Monday XXIV: Surround Yourself with People Who Support AND Help Build You

Author: Joe Lizz Team Blue Ridge Hemp coming in hot with another reminder for me this past week about the importance of surrounding yourself with people who will support you and also help you grow and evolve into a better version of yourself. You want your tribe to be filled with people who are “in your corner.” You want them to be there to tell you when you’re doing well, and also when you need to get out of your own way or when you need to “get it together” and grow where you go. Surrounding yourself with the right people and at the right time(s), can be challenging. Just because someone was the right friend at a certain moment or during a certain part of your journey doesn’t...

Mantra Monday VXI: I Am Becoming

Author: Joe Lizz I am becoming.   The person I want to be. Each and every day, I take another step toward that person.    Bumps in the road are there for a reason and everything is happening according to a greater plan. While it can feel like time passes slowly when we find ourselves in those “in-between” feeling moments, such moments offer us the time we need to reflect, digest, and progress. Go easy on yourself. While you should always push forward, you don’t have to push so hard.   Be gentle with yourself; evolve and grow in a place of peace. At no day, at no specific time are you required to do more than you are capable of doing...

Gratitude Friday XI: Our Story

A few weeks ago, we were interviewed for an article about the growing presence of CBD in Asheville businesses by our local paper, The Citizen Times. We are glad to have had this opportunity to share the value of CBD, the science behind CBD, and our mission of empowerment with the local community. Conducting this interview was also a valuable reminder of our story — where we came from, where we are now, and where we are going.   We are tremendously grateful for the ways in which Blue Ridge Hemp Co. has developed and the steps we took to get here. Today, we want to celebrate #gratitudefriday by sharing with you the story of our company.   As BRHC has grown and...

Mantra Monday XIII: Lessons from Childhood are Lessons for Life

Author: Joe Lizz I am extraordinarily grateful for my mother. Growing up, my dad worked every shift he could, every day of the week he could, so that my mother could stay home and raise me and my siblings. She was, and still is, one of the most positive influences in my life. I can’t thank her enough for all that she sacrificed for me. When I grew up, we didn’t have cell phones or social media. We didn’t own a laptop, or even a desktop computer (go ahead and google that, I’ll wait — #throwback) until I was in middle school. We had to pick up the phone and call someone to talk to them or pick up a pen and paper...
